The funding line open_innovation aims for teaching innovations within faculty study programs.
Should you be planning a small, easily realizable innovation the service of micro_innovation could be interesting for you.
If you are planning a joint course with an international partner higher education institution of UZH, the funding line global_innovation would be best suited for you.
In principle every person that has an UZH-account can draft an open_innovation-application. However, to hand in the application, the approval of the directory of the study program is necessary.
Yes.
When developing technical applications - be it an app, website, platform or software purchase - we recommend that you clarify the situation with the Central IT and/or arrange a consultation with us as early as possible zo determine whether the project is realistic at UZH, and which departments may need to be involved before submitting an application. If there is already an existing UZH infrastructure with the required functions, this should be used. When developing new digital services, it is mandatory to outline a plan for technical support after the end of the funding period in the application.
For the topic of awareness, you can find useful videos on the website of Swiss Disability Research.
The Disability Office offers introductory material about the topic of accessibility and compensation. The office also offers consultations about accessibility. You can find fact sheets to situations of students with disabilities or chronic illnesses and support measures by teaching staff here www.disabilityoffice.uzh.ch (in German).
You can find information and further resources on the topic of e-accessibility in teaching on Teaching Tools
The Commission for Education and Student Affairs is the allocation committee of the funding line.
The Commission for Education and Student Affairs decides about the funding. The decision will be communicated shortly after the meeting of the committee. For the funding period of 2024, this will be mid-October. .
The teaching innovation and the resulting added value for students as well as the teaching at UZH should be the focus of the application. Describe your project idea in a way that also people outside of your subject can imagine the contents and goals in a concrete way. Concise descriptions can support this.
For every project that is funded by ULF, the ULF-Management requests a K-Account via Grants Management. These K-PSPs are considered as "university grants" and are managed by the Grants Management. The K-PSP runs over the profit center of the project manager (the professor or the department, under which the project should be listed). The granted ULF-funding is automatically accessible with the opening of the account and can be used longer than the year (over the entire duration of the project).
Due to the over-year use, the K-Account allows for a target-performance-comparison and continuous insight on the already occurred expenses incurred and funds still available.
